I have a vision 9700hrt (approx. 2002-2004) that recently sped up to 12mph when my wife was using. I was able to get it to start again once but was unsuccessful subsequently. Dealer thought it was probably motor control board. Seeing how much those are I replaced treadmill.
So I now have the vision if anyone would like it for parts...it's been a rock solid treadmill and is built like tank. I assume both motors are good. They probably have 1000 miles on them both walking and running. The only obvious problem (other than being non-functional) is the console is worn and there's some corrosion from sweat (so that wouldn't be a good part).
I'm located in central Illinois. The machine weighs over 300lbs. Paid $2000 new. Willing to take $200 for parts.
Let me know if there's a market for this sort of parting out somewhere else of a very nice treadmill. Thanks.
I should have said that I'll provide pics if anyone wants to see them..let me know what.

I am looking for a part for my Vision Fitness T9700 HRT treadmill. Hopefully you can help. It is the center keypad membrane that controls the Start, Stop, Select, and both sets of Arrows. Could you shoot me a photo of the control faceplate so I can see if it matches mine?

OK, here is my story.
I was doing some contract work for a retirement center and noticed the machine by their dumpster. They said they couldn't get it to work and were going to throw it away. They bought a new model.
They let me take this one.
I got home and it would only turn on. Nothing else worked. I called the manufacturer and was told to apply some heat gently to the console top.
I used a heat gun and messaged the control top with heat.
I was able to get the left and the right side keypad membranes to light up and "function", but not the center one. Of course, the center one controls the Start, Stop, Select, and Arrows. The main operating buttons!
After contacting the manufacturer again and finding out this part is "no longer available" I jumped onto the internet and made as many contacts as I found asking for this part. Made probably 50 calls. No luck.
Finally, last night I removed the right side membrane which controls the "program" buttons and plugged it into the center membrane prongs.
Everything (except of course the "programs") works fine, now.
I printed a paper lining up the new "functions" with their corresponding buttons and taped it in place.
It's not perfect, but our options were that or junk it.
If this is a procedure you ultimately choose to take I can guide you through it if you need help.
I will continue my efforts to locate a center keypad membrane, though not as diligent.

Our problems seem very similar - I understand what you are trying to do with the other membrane switch. I could do that as well but want to try to get the center membrane working or replaced -- I'm redrawing the ground circuit on it thinking maybe the rust compromised it (but I doubt it will work).
Let me know if you find the center membrane (where I can buy one too) or anything else you find -- I'll do the same.
I've attached a pic(s).
I can't get a picture to post/attach -- can someone tell me how to do that and I'll post pictures.

ok -- here something to check out Razor -- and anyone else -- try to take pin 3 (pin 1 is ground, pin 2 is neutral, pin 8-9 is elevation up & down) out of action -- bend it up and plug in the other 8....see if you get better results. I think I've isolated it down to pin 3 is causing unpredictable results (that's speed down and I'm hypothesizing that there's a short in that circuit). I have very predictable results without that in the mix and all buttons work.
You can also take the entire plug off and just use a jumper wire to actuate each circuit -- touch pin 2 and whatever pin you want for the function -- for example pin 2 and 5 will start the treadmill, 2 and 6 will stop it. pin 2 and 3 is speed up.
At the very least, we might be able to wire a single switch for speed down to bypass that circuit.
I know now that all the parts on this treadmill are good as it all works and is just a shorting problem if anyone is interested in the parts.
hope this helps.....
