Just wanted to let people know about an issue I am having with a Nordic Track treadmill. I purchased a Nordic Track 3100R 2.5 years ago and already the incline motor has quit on us. Customer service has been no help and a new motor costs close to $200. According to them the incline motor lasts from 2 to 10 years so you may expect to replace this part immediately after it goes off warranty. Sad
We have that Incline motor available for much cheaper than $200.

Check out that link for your incline motor.

Nordic Track and Icon have been making sub-par treadmills for years under brands such as Reebok(not CCS), WE SLOW,(sorry, I guess it is Weslow, Proform, Image, Healthrider, Sears, etc, etc. If you use it, it WILL break. Often before the 90 days warranty is up.
However, if you don't use it, you won't know the difference between a $3,000 treadmill and the cheaply contstructed Icon products.
My experience is you will bury 3 Icon treads in the landfill before you put a dent in the life of a high end tread. And when you go to fix the quality product it isn't half again what you paid for it to be repaired.
People are filling landfills with these things because they won't pay the repair price; they simply go and buy another one(Don't they get it?!!)
Anyway, sorry to those who made the big mistake of buying the "junk" from Icon.
I have a pt 5.5 from 1997. Consol broke and is no longer supported. Now I have a 1000 lb piece of junk in my house. How can I get rid of it? Anyone want some parts from it?
