I'm in SF Bay Area, California. My Stairmaster 4400PT suddenly started "racing" with speed control no longer functioning. According to experts, the alternator may have gone bad. Since unit is pretty old (> 6 years), I'm seeking a local service organization or individual who can not only fix the unit, but refurbish cables, bushings, and such that are probably near end-of-life.

Any suggestions? I'm in area code 925, near area codes 408, 415, 510, and 707.

hello saw your post and was thinking maybe you would like to purchase my 4400pt? the console is not functioning and i can not find one. so maybe you can use the unit for parts. if interested im willing to let it go for 75.00. that should help save you some bucks. im also in the 925 area code (east bay) let me know fa-du@live.com
